    Full-time and part-time experienced veterinary technicians/ assistants needed for a busy after-hours emergency clinic in Greenville, NC. We are a progressive hospital and utilize our technicians to their full potential. Accordingly, good skills and experience are important for this position. Specific tasks our techs perform include, but may not be limited to: room check-ins; triage; in-house lab work (chemistry panels, fecal and heartworm exams, urinalyses, cytology); digital radiography; venipuncture from cephalic, saphenous and jugular veins; IV catheter placement; anesthetic induction, intubation and monitoring; critical care nursing and hospitalized patient monitoring. Registered status is preferred, but not a must. Computer skills required as we are a paperless practice; Avimark system is used. We offer a competitive salary and benefit package including medical, vacation, continuing education and 401K for full time-personnel. Hours are up to 4 days per week plus every other week-end. Good communication skills and an energetic, upbeat personality are a must.     The Wildlife Center of Virginia
    Our veterinary and veterinary technician externship programs are designed to provide senior students (and interested veterinarians) with a hands-on experience in all aspects of wild animal handling, maintenance, and treatment. Throughout the extern’s three-to-twelve week rotation s/he is taught anatomy, physical restraint, anesthesia, radiography, laboratory analysis, emergency triage, first aid, orthopedics, necropsy procedures, medications and dosages. In addition, animal housing requirements, husbandry, and the legal aspects associated with wildlife medicine are explored.
